BAF needed stop-gap aircraft to cover 10-15 yrs gap till they buy the 4 aircraft type under evaluation as future aircraft for the force. FC-1 is too expensive as costs $25mln a piece means $400mln for 16 aircraft. If u add $80mln more with that you can get F-16/Mig-29/J-10/F-18. Besides FC-1 is still not fully developed. It is still undergoing various test. FC-1 is basically a fine piece of crap.

As per all the discussions on the related forums, it has been confirmed that these are the newest and deadliest versions of mig - 21. Having a full glass cockpit, advanced radar, bvr capability and also capable of precision and laser guided bombds. This can be used as an iterceptor and also as a multi role bomber and comes with 7 hardpoints 6 (3 on each) on wings and 1 on underbelly. a few claims are still not verified, good bang for the buck.
